After 26 years, a longtime EFF advocate is stepping down today. The organization has grown from a small group into a major force, yet its core mission to protect freedom and justice online remains unchanged and strong.

The journey at EFF began more than two decades ago with a small team of passionate fighters. They worked to establish principles of freedom in the emerging digital age. Over time, the group expanded into a larger organization while keeping the same drive and values that defined its early days. The world has shifted in many ways, but the commitment to these ideals has stayed firm throughout.

Pride comes from many key wins during these years. Efforts helped protect encryption tools and supported programmers facing legal challenges. Work also focused on limiting excessive monitoring by both governments and big companies. These actions have made a real difference in how people experience the online world today.

As this chapter closes, the focus turns to the future. The ongoing need for strong voices in digital rights continues to grow. Thanks go out to all the colleagues and supporters who shared this path over the years.
